A meeting of the General Association of Koreans in China took place in Shenyang, China.

Present there were officials of the association, Korean nationals of Shenyang and family members of martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers.

Choe Su Bong, first vice chairman of the association, said in a speech that President Kim Il Sung led the 20 year-long hard-fought anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory in the darkest period when the Korean nation stood at the crossroads of life and death, and thus achieved the historic cause of Korea's liberation.

He noted that the 75th anniversary of Korea's liberation is of greater significance as it is celebrated when the dignity and might of the DPRK dynamically advancing under the uplifted banner of independence and self-reliance are fully demonstrated.

It is thanks to the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un that the DPRK is renowned on the international arena as a country strong in its independent stand that no one dares provoke, he noted.

The General Association of Koreans in China and all Koreans in China, keeping pace with the great advance of the people in the homeland, will firmly unite a broad spectrum of compatriots around the organization and more strenuously conduct the patriotic movement for national reunification with indomitable will and fortitude, true to the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader, he stressed.

A letter to the Supreme Leader was adopted at the meeting.

Then there were round-table talks and a film show.

A meeting of officials of the Yanbian Regional Association of the General Association of Koreans in China and its branches took place in Yanji City, Jilin Province of China on the same occasion.

The Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China held a ceremony of laying a floral basket before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and a remembrance meeting in Dandong City, Liaoning Province of China.
