Dried Yeast Developed
Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Wheat Flour Processing Factory recently developed dried yeast with locally available raw materials.

The newly-developed dried yeast is strong in fermenting force and convenient in use and can be stored for over one year at the normal temperature.

The home production of dried yeast makes it possible to supply sufficient yeast to various sectors including the food industry.

Han Tong Chol, manager of the factory, told KCNA:

Visiting the factory on January 23, Juche 99 (2010), Chairman Kim Jong Il gave an instruction to produce yeast for making various kinds of breads.

The factory remodeled and manufactured such equipment as liquid sugar filter and air filter by its own efforts to establish a streamlined process for producing dry yeast.

The dried yeast produced by the factory is now being used at 200-odd units.
