Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, there are a lot of natural monuments telling about ardent patriotism of Chairman Kim Jong Il. Among them are char in Lake Chon on Mt Paektu and red rock in Ryongsupho. As this char is living in the highest place among those in Eurasia, it has been preserved as an object of scientific study. In August Juche 77 (1988) the Chairman climbed Mt Paektu and said it is a rare phenomenon throughout the world that chars live in groups in Lake Chon on the mountain. In December 1992, he personally named it Chonjisanchono (Salvelinus malma m. chonjiensis). The red rock, granite with white spots, is in the Ryongsupho Beach, Kwail County, South Hwanghae Province. The Chairman saw the rock on the beach on May 13, 2001 and told officials not to damage the scenery of the beach by quarrying the granite. |
