Kim Tok Hun Inspects Recovery from Flood Damage in Kangwon Province

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a field survey of the recovery from flood damage in Kimhwa and Phyonggang counties of Kangwon Province. He made rounds of dwelling houses under construction in the township and the site in Choso Co-op Farm of Kimhwa County where a campaign for recovery from flood damage is underway. He stressed the need for the officials of the county party committee and people's committee to bear in mind the Party's intention to provide the people with stable living conditions, solve difficulties in the living of inhabitants in the flood-affected areas while sharing weal and woe with them and conduct more carefully and powerfully the organizational and political work for eradicating the flood damage as early as possible. He stressed the need to accelerate the rehabilitation projects including building dwelling houses and repairing roads by dint of the army-civilian joint operation and thus to greet the 75th founding anniversary of the Party with proud success of completing the campaign for recovering from flood damage. At the Apdong and Sanggap stockbreeding farms in Phyonggang County, he noted that officials should raise increasingly high demands for recovering from damage unaffected by any natural disasters and take thorough-going scientific and technical measures for improving the growth of crops. Consultative meetings discussed the issues for making the relevant sectors to timely supply necessary materials, organizing railway transport well and giving precedence to the river improvement projects and sewerages repair for minimizing the damage by Typhoon No. 9. |
