Memorial Service Held for Korean Victims of Massacre after Great Kanto Quake

| Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- A memorial service took place in a park of Tokyo Metropolis on Sept. 1 on the lapse of 97 years since the heinous massacre of Koreans committed by the Japanese imperialists in the wake of the great Kanto quake. It was hosted by the Japan-Korea Association. The participants mourned the Koreans killed by the Japanese imperialists. A speaker at the service recalled that Japan spread a false rumor in the wake of the great quake and mobilized army, police and even ultra-right conservative bodies to brutally massacre innocent Koreans. Misconduct to cover up and deny the indelible historical fact is getting pronounced in the Japanese society, the speaker charged. The speaker stressed that the fact will always be remembered and Japan is obliged to pay for it. |
