The people-first principle is the political idea that calls for regarding the popular masses as the master of the revolution and construction, relying upon them, and making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

It is the steadfast will of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to make the people-first principle run through the Party work so that the traits of respecting and loving the people and relying on them pervade the whole Party and the main efforts of the Party work are concentrated upon improving the well-being of the people.

The meetings and enlarged meetings of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee held this year clearly proved the revolutionary stand of our Party which regards it as its inviolable duty to defend and take care of the destiny and life of the people.

We are faced with an important task to protect the people's lives and properties from the horrible malignant virus sweeping across the world and natural disasters and provide them with greater happiness.

The situation calls upon the officials to regard the people-first principle as the motto and principle of their actions and carry on the struggle for the people positively and devotedly.

The Party organizations at all levels and its officials should apply people-first principle to the overall work of the Party, firmly cement the single-minded unity and make full contribution to greeting the 8th Congress of the Party as the one of victors.
