Rodong Sinmun on Glorious History of Chongryon
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article says that the history of the movement of Koreans in Japan is a sacred course adorned with victories and glory under the banner of the Republic.

Glorious is the course of patriotism and loyalty covered by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) during which it has advanced under the benevolent care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, holding aloft the flag of the Republic, the article says, and goes on:

For Koreans in Japan, the sacred flag of the Republic means the banner of justice and victory and the dynamic advance of the Republic demonstrating its might as the dignified and independent powerful country is the lifeblood of struggle inspiring them with the invincible faith.

Under the banner of the Republic, Chongryon has grown stronger into a prestigious and powerful organization of overseas Koreans that has held their leader in high esteem, realized the unity of its ranks in ideology and purpose and reliably led the movement of Koreans in Japan along the road of Juche whatever difficulties in the alien land.

Chongryon and Koreans in Japan have always share the destiny with the homeland and made contributions to the prosperity of the socialist homeland in weal or woe. Their patriotism and loyalty will shine long with the history of the homeland.

It is the greatest exploit performed by Chongryon that it has developed itself into the genuine organization of overseas DPRK citizens, which always remains loyal to the idea and line of their leaders, upholds the guidance of their leaders without an inch of deflection and shares the destiny with the socialist homeland.

The history of ardent love for the homeland and nation made by Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, that is proud of Juche and patriotism, will remain long in the history of the homeland along with the past and the present full of victories and glory and the rosy future of our Republic.
