Evidence of Japan's Past Crimes Opened to Public
Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- A note showing the massacre of Koreans by the Japanese imperialists during the great Kanto earthquake was recently opened to public.

The note written by a Japanese, who was 11 years old when the great earthquake hit Kanto area of Japan on September 1, 1923, carries detailed information on the spread of such false rumors as "Koreans poisoned wells", all of which were aimed at creating hostility against Koreans and massacring them.

The note is evidence of the chauvinistic massacre of Koreans by Japan which invented false rumors, availing itself of the extreme social instability and public fear, due to catastrophic disaster by the great earthquake, to suppress and kill Koreans in Japan.

The massacre of Koreans by the Japanese imperialists with the great Kanto earthquake as an occasion is a heinous crime which was intentionally spearheaded and committed by the Japanese government and military.

Far from probing the truth behind the massacre and atoning for it, Japan makes no scruple of distorting history while persisting in denying the massacre of Koreans at that time.

Japan should be keenly aware that with nothing can it distort or cover up its crime-woven past, and should apologize and atone for it at an early date.
