Meeting of Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan Held

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- The 34th general meeting of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan took place in Tokyo on September 12. Attending it were Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and officials of the federation and deputies. The meeting reviewed the federation's past work for ushering in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan in the face of today's difficulties and discussed and decided on the orientation of its work and main tasks to be carried out for the coming two years. O Min Hak, managing director of the Standing Council of the federation, in a report said that the federation has developed into a capable economic organization and an organization which contributes to the patriotic cause for the last two years under the wise leadership and care of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. He noted that the federation has fulfilled its responsibility and duty in tiding over the difficulties caused by widespread COVID-19, preserving the rights and interests of Korean traders and industrialists in Japan and contributing to the patriotic work of Chongryon. Stressing the need to further develop the federation into a competent economic organization with innovative management system and a powerful organization waging a vigorous patriotic movement, he referred to its four main tasks. Speeches were made by officials of commercial organizations at all levels. Pak Chung U was reelected chairman of the federation and O Min Hak managing director of its Standing Council. Jo Il Yon made a speech. Then, there was an enlarged meeting of the First Session of the 34th Standing Council of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan. |
