"Samguksagi", Classic of Korean Nation
Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- "Samguksagi" is one of the national classics of Korea, which deals with the histories of three kingdoms--Koguryo (B.C. 277-A.D. 668), Paekje (late 1st century B.C.-660) and Silla (early 1st century-935).

This book, edited in 1145, consists of main part, chronology, civilization of three kingdoms and series of biographies. Carried in it are such contents as tales and circumstances of the founding of each kingdom and the course of its development and data on people's struggles against aggression, relations with neighboring countries, music, costume, housing, geography, government posts and patriotic generals like Uljimundok and Ondal, excellent scholars and literary persons.

The first edition of the book was printed in 1170 and the second and third editions in 1394 and 1512.

In Juche 48 (1959), the DPRK issued an original of the book and its translated version on the basis of the third edition. And the Social Science Book Publishing House brought out an annotation on "Samguksagi" in 2017.

The book serves as a precious asset in studying the politics, economy, culture, science and technology and history of the patriotic people's struggles against aggressors in the periods of three kingdoms.
