During the contest, the contestants fully displayed their culinary skills in making Pyongyang cold noodle, noodle in flat vessel with meat and meat stock. Jury members appraised their skills by tasting the foods on the spot.

The jury members include culinary specialists who are officials and researchers of the Central Committee of the Korean Association of Cooks and Pyongyang Jang Chol Gu University of Commerce, and those who were selected from the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service and public catering establishments under the Pyongyang City People's Committee.
