Olympic Gold Medalists in DPRK (3)

| Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Pae Kil Su, a sportsman of the DPRK, scored 9.925 points to win a gold medal in the pommel horse final of the heavy gymnastics event at the 25th Olympic Games in Juche 81 (1992). His movements of high technique drew attention of the experts and amateurs. He took the first place at the 27th, 28th and 32nd artistic gymnastics world championships to become a thrice world championship holder and a king of pommel horse. During his career as a sportsman, he bagged 10-odd gold medals at international games including the 11th and 13th Asian games, the 16th Universiad and the 1st East Asian Games. He was awarded the title of DPRK Labor Hero in 1993 and the title of People's Athlete in 1992. |
