Swiss Organizations Issue Joint Statement on 23rd Anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's Election as General Secretary of WPK

| Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of Switzerland?made public a joint statement on Oct. 2 on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). The statement said Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK was a political event of great significance in strengthening and developing the WPK and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche. The election was a demonstration of unshakable faith and will of all the Party members and all other people to add eternal glory to the WPK as the party of President Kim Il Sung, the statement noted. Since Kim Jong Il was elected to the supreme position of the Party, the socialist cause of the DPRK could win victory after victory despite severe trials of history and the DPRK could achieve successes in building up defence capabilities and in economic construction, the statement added. The statement extended eternal glory to Kim Jong Il, eternal head of the WPK. |
