Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- A national internet seminar on the Juche idea on the subject "Juche Idea and Independence" was held in Kampala, Uganda on Oct. 6 to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea. It was attended by adherents of the Juche idea in Uganda. Mayambala Lawrence, chairman of the Ugandan National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, made a report. The reporter paid high tribute to President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. He said that the Korean people have made brilliant achievements in socialist construction, resolutely frustrating the imperialists' pressure and blockade, under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, holding aloft the banner of independence. Since foreign forces persist in building up their influence over Africa, it comes to be a more urgent issue to equip Africans with the idea of independence, he said. He said that the Juche idea sheds light on the African continent. He stressed the need for Africans to reject the domination and plunder by the imperialists, carve out their own destiny by themselves and firmly defend the sovereignty. The DPRK has fully demonstrated its might as a world-class military power, decisively smashing high-handed and arbitrary practices of the imperialists, and has made proactive efforts to establish a fair international order, he said. He noted the Ugandan adherents of the Juche idea extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in the struggle to end the imperialists' monopolistic domination and maintain independence in the international arena. Then speeches were made. The speakers said that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un is leading the DPRK to victory with his outstanding political caliber and leadership ability, adding the Korean people are blessed with the great leaders generation after generation. A letter to the Supreme Leader was adopted at the seminar. |
