Floral Baskets from PRC to Cemetery of CPV Martyrs
Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The People's Republic of China (PRC) sent floral baskets to the cemetery of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the entry of the CPV into the Korean front.

A ceremony for laying the floral baskets took place on Oct. 21.

It was attended by Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, his embassy members, Chinese guests staying here and Chinese residents in the DPRK.

The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up at the cemetery.

The national anthems of the PRC and the DPRK were played.

A floral basket sent by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC, was placed at the monument to the martyrs of the CPV.

Written on the ribbon of the floral basket were letters "The Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers Will Be Immortal".

Placed before the monument were floral baskets in the names of the CPC Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the PRC, the State Council of the PRC and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Military Commission of the CPC and the Central Military Commission of the PRC, and a floral basket in the names of bereaved families of the martyrs of the volunteer army for resisting America and aiding Korea, veterans and elder comrades and Chinese people from all walks of life.

The participants paid silent tribute in memory of the martyrs of the CPV who dedicated their lives to the sacred war against the imperialists' armed invasion under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland, and laid flowers and made a bow before the grave of Mao Anying.

Then, they looked round the cemetery.
