Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The construction for recovery from damage by flooding and typhoons in the summer is still now going on at a lightening tempo in the DPRK. To complete the recovery from disaster damage till the end of the year is one of the goals of the 80-day campaign, proposed and propelled by the Workers' Party of Korea. Such vast project as construction of new houses for the inhabitants in damaged areas is under all the people's concern. People across the country have rendered labor and material assistance with sincerity to the disaster-hit areas, regarding others' sufferings as their own. Though they suffer from shortage of everything due to many-fold trials and ordeals this year, they are providing lots of necessities, foodstuffs and labor protection materials to the disaster areas. Employees at industrial establishments are working day and night to increase the production of cement, steel and other materials and supplies needed for the recovery. Jong Hyok, a worker of the Pyongyang General Electric Cable Factory 326, told KCNA: To provide a happy life to the inhabitants in the damaged areas at an early date is the wish of our Party and all the people. So, I never feel tired though I have worked all day long. Meanwhile, officials, working people and schoolchildren across the country have sent letters of thanks and encouragement to the servicepersons and the members of the divisions of Party members from the capital city making heroic feats at the recovery campaign. It is social customs in the DPRK to help and lead each other forward. That's why the reconstruction campaign is progressing apace. |
