Across the country, you can see a large number of spas and mineral springs with high remedial value, typical of which are Yangdok, Kyongsong, Songchon and Talchon hot springs and Okryu, Kangso and Okhodong mineral waters.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il took steps to widely use those spas and mineral springs for the citizens' health promotion.

A work was conducted to survey and explore the mineral water resources in an overall way and rest homes, sanatoriums and mineral water factories were built in the hot spring and mineral spring areas.

In particular, the Yangdok hot spring area was wonderfully turned into a comprehensive center for hot spring cure and a multi-functional sports and cultural complex under the direct guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
