According to data available at the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea, at least 1,050 units have won the title throughout the country from Juche 104 (2015).

Those units set their sci-tech development plans and multistage technical innovation goals in a practical way and had worked scrupulously to attain them. In the course, they achieved valuable technical innovation successes conducive to the production expansion and the improvement of management by arousing creative wisdom and passion of technicians and workers.
