The adoption of the DPRK Law on Recycling in April last made it possible to establish a strict system and order in the recycling work and ensure the sustained economic development and the protection of ecological environment.

A work has been conducted to establish the state system for making the recycling be an important motive force for the economic development. Along with it, all the fields and units are concentrating efforts on working out a practical recycling development plan in accordance with their actual conditions.

The central organ for recycling guidance drew up a plan by year for grasping and using such recycling resources as wastes and leftovers and domestic garbage in terms of quantity and variety throughout the country and is speeding up this work.

Ministries and national institutions and provincial people's committees set up research units specializing in recycling to accelerate the multistage research work for recycling wastes, leftovers and by-products.

Industrial establishments are required to work out a recycling development plan for establishing the rotation production system on the basis of survey and analysis into subjective and objective conditions of management.

Meanwhile, a work is going on to make citizens take active part in procurement work based on rational procurement index and price and gather all idle materials without any waste.

State measures have been taken to give permission for price, size and production of recycling products in time and offer preferential treatment to the recycling goods production units.
