Peerlessly Great Men's Devoted Efforts for Industrial Production of Kimchi
Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- From olden times, the Korean people have regarded kimchi (pickled vegetables) as a subsidiary food indispensable to their dietary life.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in their lifetime set forth the task for producing this traditional food in an industrial way.

The President stressed the importance of industrial production of kimchi at various meetings and took measures for it.

One spring day in Juche 100 (2011), the last year of his great life, the Chairman gave an instruction for building a modern kimchi factory on the outskirts of Pyongyang where the vegetable production bases are arranged intensively.

True to their noble intention for the people, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un took a series of measures for putting the kimchi production on an industrial basis and gave a detailed guidance over the management of factory.

Visiting the newly-built factory in June 2016, he indicated the ways for turning it into a model and standard one of kimchi factories in the country.

Under his wise guidance, the Ryugyong Kimchi Factory was turned into a modern factory annually producing thousands of tons of kimchi and pickles as well as hundreds of tons of processed mushrooms.

The demand for this factory's products is daily growing among citizens. This year, the factory newly cultivated ten kinds of lactobacilli in an industrial way and improved the taste and aroma of kimchi by completing a pickling method in low temperature with less salt to keep the freshness and nutritive substances of vegetables to the maximum.

The number of factories producing kimchi in an industrial way is on the increase in the country.
