The complex, covering a total floor space of 18,300 square meters, is a comprehensive cultural and welfare establishment equipped with bathrooms, fitness exercise room, face treatment room, barber's, beauty parlor, restaurant, soft drink stand and other facilities.

It can accommodate at least 7,000 people a day. More than 9 million people have got service at the complex since the start of its operation.

The credit for this public service center goes to Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's loving care for the people.

The Chairman initiated the building of a modern cultural and welfare establishment for the people in east Pyongyang and gave precious instructions related to its construction on 10-odd occasions in the last period of his life.

In November Juche 101 (2012), the Supreme Leader visited the health complex nearing completion and gave important teachings on its management including an issue of arranging chairs in sweating bathrooms on a rational way and an issue of ensuring different temperatures of water in bathtubs. And he stressed that it should be well operated in winter particularly to make the citizens benefit greatly from it.
