The completion of the power station laid a foundation for improving the local economy and the people's living standard and fully supplying water for drinking, irrigation and industrial use in the city.

An inauguration ceremony was held on spot on Friday.

Attending it were Pak Jong Nam, chairman of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea,?Chae Il Ryong, chairman of the Provincial People's Committee,?officials concerned, officials and working people in Munchon City and builders and employees of the power station.
