Among them is the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection whose sapling production has been put on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis of higher level.

The seed selection and sowing grounds and outdoor cultivation ground with a big capacity were newly built at the nursery, thus making it possible to increase the sapling production by ten times as against the past.

The nursery has produced tens of millions of saplings like Larix lepolepis, Pinus strobes, Pyongyang maple and pine-nut tree suited to the local climatic and soil conditions and with high economic value every year.

These successes are attributable to the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Visiting the nursery on November 10, Juche 103 (2014), the Supreme Leader set forth vital tasks for turning the whole country into a thick woodland and greenery and ardently called on the entire party, the whole army and all the people to turn out in an all-out campaign for forest restoration, regarding it as a war with nature.

And he gave precious instructions on producing many more saplings through expansion of sapling production base, perfecting the tree planting and cultivating methods suited to the country's features and growing saplings not only for timber forest but also for gardening.
