All streets and families in the capital city of Pyongyang are wrapped in the mood of love and respect for the mothers.

Kim Hui Jong, a resident in Central District, told KCNA: My mother had served in the army until over 60. She now regards it as a family affair to give assistance to major construction sites. So, I want to delight her today.

From the morning, flower shops and stands in the city have been crowded with visitors buying bouquets and flowers such as red carnation, rose, chrysanthemum and calla.

Greeting card and souvenir shops, restaurants, photo studios and other public service facilities, too, were thronged with citizens. Very popular among them were peculiar greeting cards carrying such letters as "A Happy Mother's Day" and "Congratulations on November 16".

All the sons and daughters across the country offered warm felicitations to their mothers who have devoted themselves to the happiness of families and society and to the prosperity of the country.
