Mother's Day Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- The Korean people marked the Mother's Day. They visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, and paid high tribute to them. They also visited the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and in various parts of the country and portraits of the smiling leaders. They laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers at the statues and portraits of the smiling leaders before making a bow. The mothers across the country were warmly congratulated. Soldiers of the People's Army and sons and daughters dedicating their enthusiasm to socialist construction in every worksite for the on-going intensive 80-day campaign sent greeting cards to their mothers. Children of women of the divisions of Party members of the capital city sent congratulatory messages to their mothers, livening up the atmosphere of the worksites for reconstruction campaign. Youth in various parts of the country visited flower shops to prepare bouquets for their mothers. Performances were given to mark the Mother's Day. Public catering establishments across the country sincerely served mothers. |
