Successes Made in Mobile Cage-net Fish Farming

Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, 10-odd mobile cage-net fish farms in the Taedong and Pothong rivers in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, produced many fishes like Ryongjong fish, carp, goldfish and catfish and supplied them to baby home, orphanage, primary and middle schools for orphans, old people's home and commercial units in the city. Such mobile cage-net fish farms have been arranged in local areas, too. The history of cage-net fish farming in the country was begun under the wise guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. The Supreme Leader went round a mobile cage-net fish farm with tens of breeding ponds in the Taedong River in November Juche 104 (2015) and said with pleasure that the cage-net fish farming would be a big reserve in implementing the fishing policy of the Party. Referring to the steps to be taken for conducting the cage-net fish farming on a large scale one by one, he stressed that the people should share in the benefit from it practically. In recent years, fish farming units across the country including the Pyongyang City Fish Farming Management Bureau have made successes by putting the fish farming on a scientific and modern basis. They extended cage-net areas, secured seed fish and introduced an integrated production system into cage-net fish farms. And they markedly increased the weight of fishes and the yield by finding out new breeding methods suited to the character of cage-net fish farming and actual conditions. |
