Cocoon Production Hits All-time High in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Cocoon production hit an all-time high in the DPRK.

Officials and working people in the field of sericulture have worked hard to increase the production of cocoons since the outset of this year. Thanks to their efforts, this year's production has increased by some 350 tons and 200 tons, as compared to the last year's and the peak year's.

This led to the emergence of scores of high-yielding farms and over 800 bumper sericulturists.

Officials of the Sericulture and Silk Industrial Bureau secured mulberry saplings of high-yield variety and supplied vinyl sheets, knapsack-style sprayers, agricultural chemicals and fertilizers in time to relevant farms.

20 odd farms in North Phyongan Province have brought about bumper cocoon yields amid the hot campaign for increased production.

The number of bumper sericulturists has increased by 170 percent this year, as compared to the last year.
