Many Trees Planted in DPRK
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers across the country successfully concluded autumn tree planting.

Relevant officials of the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection directed the tree-planting campaign on the spot.

Different counties of Kangwon Province built their own tree nurseries and planted many trees of good species like "Kumya Black Pine" and Larix lepolepis in thousands of hectares of soil. Survival rate of those trees is over 90 percent.

Hundreds of thousands of trees were planted in the areas near the Pyongyang-Wonsan Tourist Motorway. Citizens and service personnel cooperated with each other in their brisk campaign for restoring forests in the areas hit by natural disasters across the province.

Citizens in North Phyongan Province and Jagang Province exerted efforts on creating forests conducive to economic development and people's livelihood. Trees were planted in consideration of their species and biological characters. Many wild fruit trees have been planted in those provinces.

People in North Hamgyong Province over-fulfilled their tree-planting plans. They thoroughly kept the principle of planting the right tree in the right soil at the right time.

Those in South Hamgyong Province have also planted many trees of good species.
