Koreans Forced into Slave Labor by Japanese Imperialists
Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- Koreans had been forced into slave labor in various parts of the Japanese archipelago.

In the first half of the last century the Japanese imperialists forcibly drafted and abducted Koreans to tackle the labor shortage in the Kobe Dockyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. in charge of building warships.

Those Koreans were forced into hard labor of 12 to 14 hours under mediaeval discipline every day.

There was neither wage payment nor medical treatment.

What they got for their meal were some bean cakes and boiled barley.

Those suffering from injury or illness were forsaken and met deaths and escapees were all cruelly killed.

Most of the Koreans in distress of grindingly hard labor at the dockyard met grievous deaths on the alien soil.

Similar atrocities were committed in other parts of Japan.

Nevertheless, the Japanese regime and the businesses involved in war crimes have denied the past crimes against humanity, resorting to sleight of hand to dodge their responsibilities.
