The name of the university was Haeju University of Agriculture when it was founded on Dec. 1, Juche 49 (1960).

At that time the university had only a few faculties. Under the wise leadership and warm care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il the university turned into a powerful base for training people talented in agricultural science and technology with several faculties, a postgraduate school, institutes, education woodlands, modern labs and a practice farm.

It has developed valuable programs for simulation experiment and practice and multimedia programs, pioneered new subjects, studied effective methods of education and directed its efforts into making the contents of education practical, comprehensive and up-to-date.

It has produced many winners of professorship, doctorate and other academic degrees.

Thanks to the deep trust and warm care of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, the university in South Hwanghae Province is developing into a reliable base for training people well-versed in agricultural science and technology and a scientific research base with good education and research conditions and environment.
