The theatre with 5,000-seat stand will serve as a base for ideological and cultural education of youth and students and working people in North Phyongan Province.

Present at an inaugural ceremony held on Sunday were Mun Kyong Dok, chairman of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the province, employees of the theatre and builders.
