Minju Joson Observes Day of International Civil Aviation

Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Tuesday dedicates an article to the Day of International Civil Aviation. A convention on international civil aviation was adopted at an international meeting held in December, 1944. On this basis, the International Civil Aviation Organization was founded in 1947, and December 7, the birthday of the convention, is commemorated as the Day of International Civil Aviation every year. The DPRK ratified the convention on Aug. 15, 1977 and became a member nation of the organization on September 14 that year, says the article, and goes on: Under the wise leadership and deep attention of the Party, our country has achieved steady development in the field of civil aviation. In our country, Pyongyang International Airport was splendidly remodeled as a modern airport in recent years, as required by the new century. Light planes were manufactured with domestic efforts and technology to better the citizens' leisure activities. The country has also boosted exchange with other countries in the field of civil aviation, thus promoting the development of its civil aviation. |
