Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Janggun Peak commanding a bird's-eye view of the 3,000-ri land of Korea is one of the eight famous scenes on Mt Paektu, the ancestral mountain of Korea and a holy mountain of the revolution. Janggun Peak, the highest one in Korea, is 2 750 meters above the sea level. The peak was called Paektu Peak in the past, but now it is called Janggun Peak in reflection of the Korean people's unanimous desire to convey forever President Kim Il Sung's immortal revolutionary feats associated with Mt Paektu. In October Juche 103 (2014), Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un climbed the top of Janggun Peak and said that he could hardly repress his overflowing passion on the venerable images of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who led the Korean revolution to brilliant victory by weathering out the raging wind of history with soul and spirit of Paektu, while looking at the country. And he added that the visit to the top of Mt Paektu hardened his determination and will to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered in Mt Paektu. Janggun Peak of Mt Paektu, which is associated with the immortal revolutionary careers of the President and the Chairman and which is the mental pillar of the invincible DPRK and the root of indomitable ideological might, inspires the Korean people with high national pride and optimism and faith in the victory of the revolution. |
