It is a modern seafood processing base built in October Juche 101 (2012), thanks to the noble loving care for the people shown by Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

In his lifetime, the Chairman gave a task for producing laver and processing it well and had led the work for its materialization. He paid deep attention even to such issues as finding out original seed of laver, introducing advanced laver cultivating and processing method, building laver farm and processing base and providing automated and streamlined processing equipment.

Visiting the factory in July 2015, the Supreme Leader took measures for increasing laver output and the variety of its processed products.

After knowing that the factory produced only some kinds of processed laver, he advised that such various kinds of peculiar processed goods should be turned out as powdered laver, seasoned laver and boiled laver. And he gave precious teachings on boosting the production at the factory, including the issues of establishing a Korean-style laver processing method and setting up more modern production processes.

The factory is now producing processed laver including fried laver, boiled laver and seasoned and powdered laver.

This year, boiled laver was listed as the February 2 goods for its good quality.
