Pyongyang City and several provinces have brought about good prospects for increasing cocoon production by putting manuring on a scientific basis after making detailed analysis of soil on mulberry fields.

Amid a hot contest for increased production, many units and workers have become high-yielding units and bumper sericulturists.

The Thaechon Cocoon Production Office has produced at least 10 tons of cocoons. Workers of several units became bumper sericulturists by producing over one ton of cocoons this year.

The number of those who yielded over 500 kg of cocoons per hectare has increased across the country.
