Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, successes have been made in the work to keep the historical sites, precious treasure of the nation, in their origin. According to data available at the Bureau for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the repairs on historical sites were conducted in different parts of the country this year, on the principles of the Juche character, historicism and scientific accuracy. Included in the repair work were main halls of Pohyon Temple in Hyangsan County of North Phyongan Province and Ryonghung Temple in Yonggwang County of South Hamgyong Province, Thonggun Pavilion in Uiju County of North Phyongan Province, Jewol Pavilion in Hamhung City of South Hamgyong Province, Yongpha Pavilion in Huichon City of Jagang Province and Jongbangsan Fort in Sariwon City of North Hwanghae Province. Pohyon and Ryonghung temples, Thonggun Pavilion and Jongbangsan Fort were built in the period of Koryo (918-1392) and Jewol and Yongpha pavilions in the period of the feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910). Those historical remains show the distinguished talents of the Korean nation. On October 24, Juche 103 (2014), Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un made public a celebrated work "National Heritage Conservation Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation". In the work, he set forth the tasks and ways for the national heritage conservation, stressing the need to regard the idea and theories of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on national heritage conservation as guidelines and embody them thoroughly. |
