Thanks to his assumption of the KPA supreme commandership, the DPRK could emerge self-reliant military power and the victorious history of socialist Korea could continue century after century.

The Chairman had performed undying feats in the history of army building with his distinguished military wisdom and extraordinary commanding art.

When he was appointed to the KPA supreme commandership, the DPRK was undergoing harsh ordeals unprecedented in its history. The hostile forces got evermore undisguised in their moves to stifle the DPRK, with the collapse of socialism in some countries as a momentum.

At that time, the Chairman made a scientific analysis of the prevailing situation and opened up a new age of change by enforcing the unique Songun politics from the mid-1990s.

With a high sense of responsibility for the destiny of the country and the people, he strengthened the KPA into an elite revolutionary army and provided the powerful self-reliant defence capability by directing his greatest efforts to bolstering up the country's defence capability.

When the country underwent ordeals owing to the hostile forces' escalated anti-DPRK moves, he advanced the line of economic construction in the era of Songun on simultaneously developing the light industry and agriculture while giving priority to the development of the defence industry. It was a great and courageous decision that could be made only by the Chairman.

Witnessing the realities in various countries which fell a victim to the imperialists' high-handed and aggression moves as they are weak in military strength, the DPRK people have always recollected the immortal feats of the Chairman who provided a military guarantee for the sovereignty of the country and the nation.

Today, the DPRK is advancing along the road of victory, holding Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the supreme commander of its armed forces.
