Labor- and land-saving tree nurseries were built in South Phyongan, North Phyongan, North Hwanghae provinces and Rason City, which laid a foundation for putting sapling production on a more scientific, industrial and intensive basis.

Kanggye City in Jagang Province set up a tele-consultative system linked to the Central Tree Nursery of the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection for exchanging technical experience and acquiring the advanced methods of manuring and tending saplings, thus making it possible to produce saplings twice a year, irrespective of weather.

Hundreds hectares of wild fruit woods have been created in many areas and the forest restoration campaign plan for this year were over-fulfilled on all indices.

Now, preparations are being stepped up to achieve bigger success in forest restoration campaign next year.
