Recalling that "The Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" framed by President Kim Il Sung was adopted and promulgated on December 27, Juche 61 (1972), the editorials term it a historic event of epochal significance for consolidating the Republic and carrying out the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The Socialist Constitution is the most popular one that fully reflects the desire and demand of the people and regards it as its mission to thoroughly ensure their interests, the editorials stress.

Rodong Sinmun says that the constitution of the Republic serves as a treasured sword for firmly preserving the original features of socialism as it gives absolute priority to the people's demands and interests, adding:

We should strictly observe the great Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il Constitution with great pride in it.

We should firmly arm ourselves with the judicial ideas, theories and instructions of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and abide by the socialist laws. We should also solve the problems arising in all the fields of socialist construction, including the building of the people's power and economic and cultural construction, with an emphasis put on the materialization of the people's demands and interests, as taught by the great leaders.
