In the message Raul Castro Ruz, on behalf of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban people and on his own behalf, extended his most sincere congratulations to Kim Jong Un upon his election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Expressing the belief that the Korean people would advance the socialist cause under the leadership of Kim Jong Un true to the instructions of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the message hoped that achievements would be made in the implementation of the decision of the 8th WPK Congress.
