One day in May Juche 100 (2011), the last year of his great life, the Chairman visited the Ponghwa Soap Factory, saying that it is closely related to the people's livelihood. He acquainted himself in detail with its production process and gave instructions on further improving the quality of soap in keeping with the developing cultural level of the people and activating the production.

In recent years, the factory developed new products, raised the level of modernization by putting the production processes on an automatic assembly line and established a scientific analyzing system.
