Efforts for Improving Coal Carriage Capacity in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- All those in the coal industrial sector of the DPRK, the outpost for developing the self-supporting economy, have turned out in the struggle to carry out the important tasks set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Kim Tong Su, department director of the Ministry of Coal Industry, told KCNA:

Coal miners across the country are now replete with determination to hit the coal production target set in the new five-year plan for national economic development without fail.

The ministry is concentrating its efforts on enlisting to the full the internal motive force of self-reliance bases already established at Sunchon and Pukchang area youth coal mining complexes and Tokchon, Tukjang, Kaechon and Kujang area coal-mining complexes.

A brisk work was launched to further increase the coal carriage capacity and build bases for producing metal supports.

Tokchon and other coal-mining machine factories have propelled the work to supply the coal mines with electric cars and traction motors.

Last year, the ministry raised the coal carriage capacity 1.3 times by newly laying and repairing belt conveyors.
