The State Commission of Science and Technology is now taking steps to settle the urgent sci-tech problems arising in implementing the new five-year plan for national economic development and speed up the high-tech development.

According to an official concerned, primary attention has been paid to activating the metal and chemical industries.

The commission is also planning to introduce into various economic sectors the successes made in the major technical engineering fields, including mechanical engineering, metal engineering, heat engineering and material engineering, while developing the field of core basic technology and ultra-modern science and technology like IT, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, new material technology and new energy technology.
