Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- The Central Measuring Science Institute marked its 70th founding anniversary. President Kim Il Sung opened up a new history of scientific measuring in our country by founding the Central Measuring Science Institute. He made sure that it was provided with huge funds needed for equipping itself with measuring tools of international standards during the grim Fatherland Liberation War and in the post-war period. He clearly indicated the way to be followed by the institute in every period of socialist construction. Chairman Kim Jong Il sent modern measuring tools and equipment to the institute and wisely led it to develop Korean-style measuring tools by its own efforts. The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) tasked the field of measuring science and research with making a tangible contribution to raising the quality of products and structures by studying and developing ultra-modern measuring tools and updating inspection methods, as required by the building of a powerful socialist country. For the past 70 years, the institute has fully discharged its duty, writing a proud history of creation and innovation under the guidance of the WPK. A meeting took place on Monday to convey a congratulatory message from the WPK Central Committee to the scientists, technicians and employees of the institute. It was attended by Choe Sang Gon, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Chung Gil, chairman of the State Commission of Science and Technology, and officials and employees of the institute. |
