Present at the conference were Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and other leading officials of the Party and government, officials of the Cabinet, commissions, ministries and national institutions, educational institutions and provincial, city and county Party and power organs and officials in the field of forest restoration and land and environment protection.

Also present there were Kim Jong Gwan, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, and officials of the armed forces organs.

At the conference successes and lessons gained in the forest restoration campaign and the general mobilization for land administration last year were analyzed and reviewed, and measures for innovatively mapping out plan for making practical change and substantial advance from the first year of the implementation of the new five-year plan and for bringing about a decisive turn in management of the land and protection of ecological environment were discussed.

The conference called upon all the officials to take the lead in the struggle for transforming the whole country into a socialist fairyland, a beautiful land as befitting the era of the Workers' Party with conviction that we can build a powerful socialist nation with our own efforts, technology and natural resources.
