Spring Water Resources in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- Spring water factories have been built in different parts of the DPRK in recent years to provide the people with quality spring water.

In the country, called as a tapestry-like land from olden times, there are lots of spring water resources good for human health.

Thanks to the devoted efforts made by the peerlessly great men for the people, many springs were developed across the country.

In June Juche 42 (1953) when the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was at hand, President Kim Il Sung gave an instruction on developing the country's mineral water resources. In April next year, he saw to it that the mineral spring in Mt Myohyang buried by the war was restored preferentially.

And he took measures to set a zone for naturopathy discovered by prospectors as a national protective zone, thus making it possible to develop such mountain streams like Sindok Spring Water and spas.

Under the guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il, springs around Ullim Falls in Kangwon Province and the area of Mt Chilbo in North Hamgyong Province were found through an intensive survey. And in the course of survey of mountain streams in hundreds of areas across the country, it was confirmed that the country has more than 260 springs whose water is equivalent in health index to that in the world's areas of macrobians.

The Chairman visited the Ryongaksan Spring Water Factory in January 2011, the last year of his great life, saying that there are very plenty of quality natural springs everywhere in the country and the spring water should be effectively used for people's health.

Today, modern spring water factories have taken their shapes to contribute to the people's livelihood under the deep care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, and Masikryong, Taehwabong and Kumgang springs were listed as natural monuments of the country.
