The title was instituted in February Juche 104 (2015) in order to give commendation to model units in the work of afforestation and forest conservancy for changing the looks of the country's land.

According to data available, more than 400 units across the country have won the title up to now.

The Ponghwa Chemical Factory, the Unhung Co-op Farm in Thaechon County of North Phyongan Province and some other units took the lead in this movement, transforming the sections under their charge into thick forests by displaying to the full Kim Jong Il's patriotism.

At least 380 units were awarded the title last year and 40 units in January of this year.

It is the fixed resolution and will of the DPRK people to turn the country into a socialist land of bliss covered with green woods, true to the plan and intention of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
