The theatre built on the bank of the Jangja River in Kanggye City has an auditorium with over 1,500 seats, lobby, make-up-room, creation room, exercise rooms and welfare facilities.

The construction of the new theatre means the creation of another base for making contribution to the cultural and emotional life of the people in the province.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ri Hyong Gun, chairman of the Jagang Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned, artistes of the art troupe of the province, employees of the theatre, builders and working people in the city.
