Rodong Sinmun on Socialist Emulation Drive
Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Wednesday says in an article that the socialist emulation drive is a movement in which the working people or collectives help and lead one another forward in order to enhance the labor productivity and further push forward the production and construction on the basis of self-consciousness, activity and creativity of the socialist working people.

It is the traditional work method of the Workers' Party of Korea to make leaps forward and innovations in the production and construction through a hot socialist emulation drive, the article says, and goes on:

Our Party has always given importance to the socialist emulation drive in effecting economic revitalization and growth of production.

Apart from the socialist emulation drive waged across the country like wildfire, we can never think about the proud history in which the historic task of the socialist industrialization was successfully carried out in a short period though it took several centuries in other countries, and the great heyday of the era of the Workers' Party ushered in with the spirit of the speed campaign.

The socialist emulation drive is a powerful means to arouse enthusiasm for revolution and creative ingenuity of the producer masses and help all sectors and units bring about constant innovations, creations and progress.

When the masses have strong enthusiasm and spirit for struggle, all kinds of obstacles hampering the economic development can be removed and new innovation, bold creation and steady progress brought about despite any unfavorable situation.

The socialist emulation drive serves as a powerful engine for all sectors and units to fully display the traits of collectivism and effect joint innovations in the overall economic construction.

Only when all sectors and units cooperate with each other and make progress all together, can the overall national economy be revitalized and the development of individual units firmly ensured.
