Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- The Dried Flower Workshop of the Pyongyang Floriculture Institute in the DPRK has made diverse products to contribute to the people's cultural and emotional life. In recent years, the workshop manufactured dried pine products of different sizes and shapes. According to Ri Hyong Sik, chief of the workshop, such product with high ornamental value, which is good to decorate office rooms, halls and corridors of public buildings, has won popularity among the people as it preserves its original color and shape as the national tree. The workshop developed a new drying method to make floral baskets, frames, walls and door ornaments and flower vases with dried flowers. Kim Yong Hui, a woman living in Pyongyang, told KCNA that she decorated her house with dried flower products and they are good to look and make one feel exhilaration and ease. Technicians of the workshop are now deepening the research into the work to prevent dried flower products from being discolored and transformed by moisture and ultraviolet rays and keep their original color and shape for a long time. Ri Hyong Sik noted that the demand for dried flower products is growing higher with the approach of March 8 International Women's Day. |
